Nyahahaha~

It seems that you've tripped on a pocky box and stumbled onto this small corner of the world wide web. Kudos to you~! Vanquished is a personal/blog site that features utterly random thoughts that goes through Elaine's head. A lot of non-existant effort was put into the blurbs, so pay attention and be sure to go through them! Hopefully it contains more about interesting stuff than her life and site updates. Now, may you be on your way!

Opening Vs Opening Vs Opening?

Posted On: Aug. 24th 2008, Sun @ 12:05 pm   | 414 words in post

Anime openings. Some of us love them, some of us just skip through them. What do you do?

All countries, networks, animes have their own openings (and sometimes endings) with the animes. We’re talking about the dubbing companies like FUNimation, VIZ, 4kids, etc.

In this post, I’m just going to show you a few comparisons that I’ve found interested and maybe humorous.

1. a) Original - Naruto 1st Opening
Not the greatest of all openings…

b) English - Naruto 1st Opening
Man, I thought this was bad, wait till the one after this one, hahaha. I guess it’s only 30 seconds of torture compared to the other two. America loves their commercials ;)

c) German/Dutch - Naruto 1st Opening
I heard they usually have better openings, but this one takes the cake.

2. a) Original - Escaflowne Opening
Better than any of the above shown Naruto openings for sure.

b) English - Escaflowne Opening
Concentrate on watching this one!

In opinion it is much more compelling than the original Japanese one, don’t'cha think? One of the few English versions that are on par with or is better than the originals.

You see, everyone a life. Some has more lives than others. For example, one may have an online life, offline life, life as a mother/daughter/father/son, a work life, a volunteering life, a gaming life, etc. Even no life is a life. Is how you live your [current] life. Like many of us, I also juggle many lives between my 30 hours a day, 9 days a week.

To make all those work together and have time for yourself, you must identify your priorities. After you’ve identified them, you must execute them by most to least importance, obviously. I’m still practicing that. It is a skill that must be honed to near perfection.

I thought that once summer hit, my life would slow down and I would have some extra time, especially since school life would be taken out of account. Or so I thought. Summer school had effectively taken over my first half of my whole summer. What a bummer. I hadn’t planned out the following month, so now everything now is basically hit and run. Many events has occurred and is going to occur, the question is if I have the time to even process it all. That is my offline life.

Like any offline life, I’m sure your online life has many categories aswell as mine. One personal example is that I have to tend to many messages flung to me, via any IM, email, etc. Some of those messages may contain special requests that I am required to attend to. As I am typing this my gmail notifier has already sent me a couple of unread email alerts. Second example would be gaming. Although I’m not a gamer, I like to not be a level 15 magician for long. :) Third example would be updating sites (although you don’t see much, haha), I try to do it in my spare time. But of course, you must remember, I have my priorities.

But the point of all this, is respect. Everyone has lives, and so I am entitled to have my own. Over the past few weeks, I have received many messages, in different circumstances, from different individuals that quite frankly rush and demand things. I acknowledge that I have been neglecting to responding to messages, for I’m AFK a lot compared to prior weeks. I apologize for that, but please, I have to tend to items on my list with higher priorities.

I do not plan to have a career revolving around computers in the future, for I do not want to stare at the screen all day long. I want to use my interpersonal skills more outwardly towards people who are physically in front of me. I’m not saying that I’m not going to have no online life in the future. Just not a career.

I guess, once again, this is me telling people that I need some break. Although you don’t see my activeness in the online world via my site a lot, but I do float around as much as I can when I have the time. I am sorry to the people that has been waiting for my email replies for a while now, I thank you for your patience.

Half Over Holiday

Posted On: Aug. 03rd 2008, Sun @ 2:11 pm   | 400 words in post

Yes, I’m sad to agree to the fact that summer holiday is more than half over. Hehe, seriously, I keep coming back to each post with an apology. But I shall try not to do that. Bwha~

I actually didn’t disappear, I just never posted. So to start off, from last post, I actually never advertised for my mini contest (located here) so I’m going to extend the date. Also, I am still trying to figure out a points system for the contests, and that’ll be up shortly. If you have any prize ideas in mind, feel free to tell me (’cause I really need it XD)

Oh yeah, also, during the month of July, I was extremely busy and was barely online at all because I enrolled into summer school. Boy was it a pain in the buttocks. Biology is an interesting course and I really enjoyed it, but all the assignments and tests were taking a toll on me. I had an amazing teacher, Mr. Nazareth, who taught me little life lessons to go along with his classes. I bumped into my friend, Alice K, and along the way, I met with a couple of really cool people, like Rowena and Muzna.

Well, I’m actually trying to relearn flash, so I can make a kickbum layout and other things. Right now I’m learning from scratch and I’ve completed my first 5 second video, so if you’re interested to see how n00b I am right now, feel free to view it. XD I hope in the near future, you’ll be able to see a drastic change in abilities. :)

…But that’ll have to wait because I just came back from getting myself a copy of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. I’m not a fan of her grammar, but I really enjoy reading about the Cullen’s adventures and the perfectly mismatched couple (oxymoron kehe XP ) Bella & Edward. W00t.

I hope you’ve all had a great summer, and will continue to be productive for the rest of it! ^-^ For the people who are on the other side of the earth, good luck with your studies! hehe =3 (wow, I didn’t bold or italicize anything in this post D= I think there’s something wrong me O= )
